Hello again! I had a great day of practice today. Although I get up early every morning, a friend pointed out to me that I don't usually tee off in casual or practice rounds until lunch time, so in order to prepare for my upcoming tournaments I got to the course early today and teed off by myself at 8am. No music, no conversation, just me in the chilly morning wind on the dew covered grass. My routine and rhythm seem different when I actually have to tee off early, rather than practicing or working out first, so it was great practice since I haven't been in tournament competition in several weeks. I am looking forward to teeing it up early in the mornings next week in Orlando. If you've got early tournament rounds coming soon, even at your local club, you might try some early practice rounds too!
Gotta keep believing!

Today I played Musgrove Mill Golf Club for the first time in its entirety with a former Wolfpack golfer... what an interesting design! I had a lot of fun with my friend and really enjoyed the unique and challenging layout. I struck the ball well and rolled putts on line so making birdies was fun but goodness, bogies can sure happen quickly out there. Anyone looking to become members of a 2nd club should consider joining there. It definitely elevates your game and doesn't allow you to lose focus before hitting any shot. The secluded environment full of history is very pretty and seeing turkeys roaming through the woods is neat. The bottom line is, Mugrove Mill is a fun club!

Hey there! I played Country Club of Asheville for the first time today with a friend from work. It's an old Donald Ross design with bent grass fairways and greens, but thick Kentucky blue grass rough. Driving it in the fairway will be key next month in the Friends of Mission Charity Classic there, which I perceive as an advantage. Hopefully they will get warmer weather and enough rain in the next few weeks to help them continue with course preparations leading up to the event. The mountainous course sits around 2,500 feet above sea level, and several holes feature large hills and changes in elevation. It is a fun test of golf and I can't wait for next month!
Keep it in the short grass!

Happy start to your week! Today I had lunch in Asheville, NC with the Principal Gift Officer and Director of Development of Mission Foundation. It was great to talk about details of next month's Symetra event, as well as how I can help represent the tournament's sponsors and the foundation. After lunch I drove back South to play 9 holes at the Cliffs at Valley with some of the female members and the Cliffs' Director of Instruction, Sean Kennedy. It is always fun to play with different people and I love when they inquire about different aspects of the game from my playing perspective. It was definitely a nice Monday!
Work hard, the weekend is on the way!

Wow! So I received awesome news today... I got the sponsor's exemption spot into the Symetra Tour event in Asheville, NC!!! I'll be competing in the Friends of Mission Charity Classic at the Country Club of Asheville, May 17-19th! :) I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to play in the tournament and to represent the Friends of Mission Hospital! As I have just turned professional, this will be my first Symetra Tour event and it is great that it is nearby. I look forward to the preparation, activities associated with the tournament, and obviously, the competition!
Thanks for the support!
